My Practice |
I view the body through a holistic lens. The systems of the body are interconnected and the vitality of the physiological body is interdependent on emotional wellbeing, mental health, social support/connection. Each of us is an ecosystem of physiological processes, feelings, thoughts, sensation, sensory experience, movement, memories, the microbiome. It’s all connected!
Only you can know what it feels like to move through the world in your body, navigating unique life experiences, with the resources available to you. As such, I respect that you are the expert in your body and always strive to be non-judgemental and compassionate in the care that I offer. I will meet you where you are and work with you to make recommendations that are achievable and impactful. My practice is a client-centered, trauma informed, neurodiversity celebrating, gender affirming, and weight neutral. My primary role is to share what I know about how herbs, diet, and lifestyle shifts can help you in achieving your wellness goals. I believe that our bodies are resilient. Everyone’s body has an innate intelligence and ability to heal. My goal is to identify energetic and physiological imbalances and make recommendations for herbs and supportive strategies that will best support your body's innate healing capacity, restoring balance, and optimizing physiological function. My approach is informed by the traditions of Western Herbalism, energetic assessment tools from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and integrates knowledge of whole foods nutrition, pathophysiology, and scientific research. Your recommended protocol of custom herbal formulas is based on your constitution and specific symptom presentation. This is not a one size fits all approach! I am especially excited to work with neurodivergent people. I intimately understand the patterns of dysregulation and co-occuring conditions that commonly affect our community. Herbs can help buffer us against chronic overstimulation, ease digestive issues and chronic pain, aid focus, help us sleep. Over time, we can cultivate an increased resilience to stress – which can make it easier to be in the world and enjoy life. ***I am not a doctor and do not diagnose, treat, or cure illnesses/diseases. My recommendations are not meant to replace medical care.*** |
The Process |
The initial consultation is 1.5 - 2 hours. We take time to explore the whole story of your health concerns and goals. To get a big picture overview of the patterns showing up in your body and in your life, I will ask about your health history, diet, stress level, exercise & movement, community connection, and more. This holistic view helps me to understand the many factors influencing your well being, to make well-informed assessments, and to recommend the most appropriate herbs for you.
After the initial consultation, you will receive a written personalized plan that outlines assessments and recommendations for herbs, dietary changes, supplements, and other strategies to support your goals. I typically see clients for a followup 4 - 6 weeks after the initial consultation. Followups last 45 minutes -1 hour. Together we will assess progress, adjust formulas as needed, and take time to explore any new concerns. Progress is often slower than we'd like for longstanding or complex conditions. You may find that meeting regularly for followups (every 4 - 6 weeks) is helpful. Regular reflection on our progress often helps us to cultivate compassion for our healing process. Friendly and gentle support encourages us to stay on the path. I am seeing clients virtually only at this time through a secure online video platform. |
Herbs |
Clients are typically recommended 1-3 herbal formulas depending on their needs.
I currently work with the Railyard Apothecary in Burlington Vermont to fill custom formulas (tincture/extracts, tea, powders) for my clients. They will ship herbs to you anywhere in the United States. There are new apothecaries with custom herbal formularies popping up and I am happy to explore other options with you! You are under no obligation to follow the recommended plan and can source herbs anywhere you like. I am happy to support you in learning to make your own herbal preparations as well. |
Sliding Scale |
Initial consultation: $80 - 120*
Followup consultation: $40 - 60* *** The “per-hour” cost for appointments includes work outside of our face-to-face meetings, including research relevant to your case, developing your personalized plan, and email communication addressing questions, clarification, general support. *** You decide what price is appropriate to pay based on your circumstances. I do not require disclosure of income. When you are able and choose to pay more, you are balancing the scales to allow access to health care for lower-income folks. *This does not include the cost of herbs. |
